Israel’s strike on Syria: ‘Zionists will regret aggression,’ says Iran

Damascus: A top Iranian official visiting Damascus said on Monday that Israel will regret its latest “aggression against Syria”.

“Just like it regretted all its wars… the Zionist entity will regret its aggression against Syria,” said National Security Council head Said Jalili, a day after Israel implicitly confirmed it staged an air strike near Damascus last week, AFP reported.

Four days after an air raid which Damascus said targeted a military complex near the capital, Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak spoke to reporters in Munich on Sunday yet refrained from explicitly confirming that Israel staged the strike.
