Clinton has clot in head, should make full recovery: docs
Washington: US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has a blood clot in a vein between her brain & her skull, her doctors said Monday, predicting however she should make a full recovery.
A scan on Sunday had revealed “that a right transverse sinus venous thrombosis had formed,” doctors Lisa Bardack, of Mount Kisco Medical Group, & Gigi El-Bayoumi, of George Washington University, said.
They described it as “a clot in the vein that is located in the space between the brain & the skull behind the right ear. It did not result in a stroke, or neurological damage.”
Clinton was admitted to the New York Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday following the discovery & is being treated with blood thinners to dissolve the clot. She will be released “once the medication dose has been established.”
“In all other aspects of her recovery, the secretary is making superior progress & we’re confident she will make a full recovery. She’s in satisfactory spirits, engaging with her doctors, her family, & her staff,” they added in the statement.
