London: More than two weeks ago, it was discovered that the Exynos processor in the Samsung Galaxy S3 & Note 2 have vulnerability, which can be exploited by malware & steal personal data of users as well as their lock.

Now, Sammobile reports that Samsung has pushed a software update (I9300XXELLA) to the Galaxy S3 to fix the infamous Exynos 4 vulnerability.

“The security flaw was in the kernel which made the device R/W by all users, apps & gave access to full Physical Memory. In short, this vulnerability gave root permissions to *any* app & there was no control over it yet now with the new system update the security hole has been patched,” Sammobile says.

The update Over-The-Air (OTA) bearing number JZO54K (Android 4.1.2) for Samsung Galaxy S3 is only available for the UK (BTU) yet other countries will get it soon.

Galaxy S3 users can update their device to the latest firmware via Kies or OTA.
