ESPN to Katherine Webb, Viewers: Sorry for Brent Musberger Verbal Boner!
ESPN is very sorry that Brent Musberger developed a verbal boner for Katherine Webb on the air last night.
In comments that have overshadowed Alabama’s demolition of Notre Dame in the BCS title game, the 73-year old announcer went a tad overboard in showering Webb – the girlfriend of Tide quarterback AJ McCarron – with praise based on her physical appearance.

And even though Webb was flattered by the compliments (and gained over 100,000 Twitter followers as a resuly!), ESPN has issued the following statement in response:
“We always try to capture absorbing storylines & the relationship between an Auburn grad who is Miss Alabama & the current Alabama quarterback certainly met that test. However, we apologize that the commentary in this instance went too far & Brent understands that.”
Note to ESPN: never, ever show Musberger any Kate Upton bikini photos on air.
