Coke Ad Called Racist: Do You Agree?

Coke’s new Super Bowl ad is being called racist by some. Why? The ad depicting an Arab walking through the desert with a camel and confronting cowboys, showgirls and other characters has drawn the ire of Arab-American groups.

“Why is it that Arabs are always shown as either oil-rich sheiks, terrorists, or belly dancers?” said Warren David, president of the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee.

There’s moreover the fact that in its Super Bowl ad, Coke asks viewers to vote online on which character(s) should win this race for a mythical bottle of Coke.

Viewers cannot vote for the Arab character.
