The Super Bowl TV Spot for Fast and Furious 6
2011’s Fast Five upped the stakes by transitioning into the heist genre, and the audiences loved it. And when that mid-credits scene landed, you knew the next instalment would be incredible. And it looks like Fast and Furious 6 is going to be just that.
The first teaser poster was released by Vin Diesel himself this weekend. And now the studio have given us our first satisfactory look at the film with this Super Bowl TV spot.
“Since Dom (Diesel) and Brian’s (Walker) Rio heist toppled a kingpin’s empire and left their crew with $100 million, our heroes have scattered across the globe. But their inability to return home and living forever on the lam have left their lives incomplete.
Meanwhile, Hobbs (Johnson) has been tracking an organization of lethally skilled mercenary drivers across 12 countries, whose mastermind (Evans) is aided by a ruthless second-in-command revealed to be the love Dom thought was dead, Letty (Rodriguez). The only way to stop the criminal outfit is to outmatch them at street level, so Hobbs asks Dom to assemble his elite team in London. Payment? Full pardons for all of them so they can return home and make their families whole again.”
Diesel will of course be joined by Paul Walker once more in the leading duo. And starring alongside them is another immense ensemble, headed up by Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Dwayne Johnson, Luke Evans, Joe Taslim, Tyrese Gibson, Gina Carano, Gal Gadot, Elsa Pataky, and the superior Sung Kang.
Justin Lin is behind the camera once more, having helmed the third, fourth, and fifth instalments, and he’s directing from a script penned by Chris Morgan, who’s written all the films in the series that Lin has directed.
Fast and Furious 6 will be hitting theatres on 24th May in the UK and US, and that is unquestionably a date you’ll want to remember. This is going to be amazing. All roads lead to this.
