First Trailer for Mud starring Matthew McConaughey & Reese Witherspoon

One of the movies we’re very much looking forward to seeing at Sundance 2013 has to be Mud starring Matthew McConaughey & Reese Witherspoon. It’s directed by Jeff Nichols who has previously brought us the wonderfully clever & seriously intense movie Take Shelter (if you’ve never seen it, you really should).

Also starring are Tye Sheridan, Sam Shepard, Sarah Paulson, Michael Shannon (who took on the lead role in Take Shelter), Ray McKinnon, Joe Don Baker & Paul Sparks.

Two boys, Ellis & his friend Neckbone, who find a man named Mud hiding out on an island in the Mississippi. Mud describes fantastic scenarios — he killed a man in Texas & vengeful bounty hunters are coming to get him. He says he is planning to meet & escape with the love of his life, Juniper, who is waiting for him in town. Skeptical yet intrigued, Ellis & Neckbone agree to assist him. It isn’t long until Mud’s visions come true & their small town is besieged by a beautiful girl with a line of bounty hunters in tow.
