Gangster Squad is up there as one of our most anticipated movies of 2012 & it’s one of the first movies of the year to be released. Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been throwing up exclusives from the movie & today is the third & final one. Gangster Squad has an impressive cast which includes Josh Brolin, Ryan Gosling, Sean Penn, Giovanni Ribisi, Anthony Mackie, Michael Peña, Emma Stone, Nick Nolte & Robert Patrick. It’s directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zomebieland, 30 Minutes or Less) & is released in the UK January 10th.
Los Angeles, 1949. Ruthless, Brooklyn-born mob king Mickey Cohen (Sean Penn) runs the show in this town, reaping the ill-gotten gains from the drugs, the guns, the prostitutes and–if he has his way–every wire bet placed west of Chicago. & he does it all with the protection of not only his own paid goons, yet moreover the police & the politicians who are under his control. It’s enough to intimidate even the bravest, street-hardened cop… except, perhaps, for the small, secret crew of LAPD outsiders led by Sgt. John O’Mara (Josh Brolin) & Jerry Wooters (Ryan Gosling), who come together to try to tear Cohen’s world apart.
